Most of the information that we require, we get from you during the application process. You may be asked to give us details concerning your driving history and members of your household. In addition, we may inquire and receive details about driving history, past insurance claims, and insurance score from insurance support organizations or your former insurers. As allowed by law, we may inquire for credit and other consumer reports from consumer reporting agencies concerning your application for insurance or any future renewal of insurance.
All information received is kept in our files and used solely for the purpose of securing or renewing an insurance contract with one of our affiliated insurance companies. Our policies and procedures protect your personal information. We have physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in place to protect your privacy. We do not give out or sell our customers’ personal information to others for marketing purposes. We will only use information about you to sell you insurance, service your insurance and settle claims. We may give, without your prior permission and only if allowed by law, information about you held in our files to certain persons or organizations such as: our affiliated property & casualty insurance companies; an independent claim adjuster or investigator; an insurance support organization or consumer reporting agencies; another insurer in order to prevent or prosecute fraud; if ordered by a summons, court order, search warrant or subpoena; and to protect our own legal interests, or in case of suspected fraud or other illegal activities.
